HOPE at STONEHAVEN
HOPE of the Grand Valley
P.O. Box 532
Fruita, CO 81521
For nearly five years, HOPE of the Grand Valley has been the home for people “caught in the gap” – those individuals and families who are working but struggling, not receiving governmental assistance but who need a hand up. In these 5 years thousands of local residents have been assisted through our all-volunteer efforts to provide food, furniture, special medical assistance, Christmas meals and presents, and more.
Recently, HOPE of the Grand Valley has been presented a wonderful opportunity to help even more families, and in a more significant way.
Once HOPE of the Grand Valley raises the funds to purchase this property:
The beauty of this property is there is a duplex, which would be able to house two families, the house which will house up to 8 people, and a huge barn for storage of furniture to give to the families once they graduate from the home. We expect families to become self sufficient in two or three months and be able to move on to their own home, with the furniture HOPE of the Grand Valley gives them, and a nice savings account for a rainy day, along with all of the tools they need to move forward.
Our goal is to help to keep our families off of government assistance, by giving them opportunities to budget plan, job skills, and life skill they develop while on the campus.
The home also will be available for families who are unable to get into an apartment or house because they can’t afford first and last month’s rent. Rather than living in a motel and paying a high daily/weekly rate, never able to get ahead, these folks will be able to stay at Stonehaven at a reasonable monthly rate, otherwise saving funds to get into their own place within a short time.
Stonehaven is a much needed place which will help to better serve our community by providing not only household items for family and children but also a safe place to receive additional services to help family's become and remain self sufficient not government dependent.
This is another opportunity for the generous people of our community to come together for the purchase of this home BY our community FOR our community. Once we have secured this home, all are welcome to come, plant flowers, work in the garden, paint, teach cooking, budget planning, life planning, a place for our community members to share their gifts with others.
We need to collect these funds in a short time and we need the community help now. And, if everyone that see this story gives 25.00, we will be well on our way to success. We simply ask for our community members to give what is comfortable for them to give, for us, that is the right amount.
Thank you for making HOPE of the Grand Valley what it is today!!!! We are looking forward to watching families grown at Stonehaven!
