HOPE of the Grand Valley’s mission is a hand up, not a hand out, by fostering and encouraging independence and self-sufficiency for low-income families.
Adopt a Family for Christmas program
1. You have Children under the age of 14 in your home full t ime.
2. You have at least one working adult in your family
(most recent paystub required with application)
3. You do not receive food, tanf or housing assistance because you make a little too much income
4. You have not and will not apply for any other Christmas programs in Mesa County
Our goal for our Adopt a Family for Christmas program is to take the stress off of our Grand Valley families that are paying their own rent, food, and other bills, yet are struggling every month. This way, when it comes to Christmas, they don’t have to worry. They’ll be assured that their kids will receive Christmas gifts along with a beautiful Christmas dinner.
HOPE of the Grand Valley is a local nonprofit that was founded in 2009. Our mission is to provide support and a hand up to hard-working parents that still find it hard to make ends meet at times.
“This is a group that tends to fall through the cracks,” states Founder and Director, Vicki McGee.
“That’s why we provide a hand up, not a hand out to these local families.
